Apple Launch First Store in India
American multinational technology company Apple is
about to increase investment in India. The tech giant is about to launch its
own online website as well as its own store. The company's two senior officials
said Thursday that the online Apple site will be launched within the next three
to five months. And they plan to have their own store in Mumbai within 12 to 18
months.
At present, Apple does not have any online site or
store in India. Apple is connected to the online platform Amazon, Flipkart and
Paytm Mall. Customers buy Apple's content from them online. None of Apple's own
stores have been in India for that long. This time California tech giant is
launching its first store in Mumbai through Apple.
"We love our customers," Apple said in a
statement. Indian consumers want to get equal benefits in both online and offline
stores. Indian consumers will soon get these same benefits as in other
countries. The central government of India has recently relaxed foreign
investment policy in some sectors. Apple said the decision was welcomed by the
Modi government's new policy on foreign investment.
It is worth mentioning that Apple is considered to be
one of the investment destinations in India due to the creation of China's
alternative market and increasing trade tensions between the United States and
China. It is said that the company has come to such a decision to reduce its
dependence on technology. In a few months, Cupertino-based devices and various
electronics service companies will start selling the iPhone, iPad, Apple Mac
computers in the online market. The first of these
activities will start in Mumbai, India.
